Box Score 1 Grand Rapids, Mich – After a 3-2 loss to Aquinas College the Raiders and the Saints were forced to suspend play in the bottom of the 5
th inning of the second game with Raiders leading 5-2. The remainder of that game will be made up on April 28
th prior to the double header scheduled between the two teams.
GRCC's
Sam Traver took the loss in game one leaving his record at 1-2 on the season after pitching just one inning allowing three earned runs on four hits with one walk and one strike out. GRCC's
Justin Palmbos,
Trevor Russo,
Shane Odzark ,and
Ean Walda each saw action on the mound.
Aquinas's bullpen was equally busy as six Saints took to the mound with Alex Hart picking up the win and Brandon Melchert earning a save.
The Raiders recorded just five hits in game one with
Brenden Johnson earning the lone RBI for the team.
Aquinas finished with seven hits with two RBI one from Patrick Giddings, 2-of-4, and one from Luke Epple 1-of-3.
GRCC's
Chase Huntey leads the Raiders in game two with two hits at three at-bats and three RBI.
Dalton Phillips is 3-of-3 with one RBI.
Aquinas's Jack Trimble and Drew Hernandez are both 2-for-2 at the plate with Trimble leading the Saints with 2 RBI.
GRCC is scheduled to play at Davenport University JV today at 4PM.
