Box Score 3 Grand Rapids, Mich -- Grand Rapids Community College's baseball team opened up at home this weekend dropping two games to Mott Community College's Bears. The losses leave the Raiders at 1-13, last in the MCCAA, while Mott improves to 6-5.

Santiago Mendez earned his third loss of the season pitching seven innings with five strikeouts while allowing five hits, four earned runs and three walks.

Jacob Waters in the first giving GRCC their first run leaving the Raiders down 1-2.
Mott scored twice in the fourth inning--their last scores of the game--to take a 4-1 lead on a sac fly and a single. GRCC had no response until the sixth as Ian Hathaway doubled to left center sending Dylan VanPutten home, and Joe Loria singled to sending in Hathaway.
Still down 3-4 GRCC couldn't muster up any offense in the seveth and took the loss.
Game two didn't prove much better for the Raiders as they fell behind 6-0 in the second and were downed 5-10 leaving 15 runners on base before the game was through.
Tim Redder earned his third loss for the Raiders after pitching 2.1 innings allowing 7 hits and 7 earned runs and five walks.
Collin Lay pitched 3.2 innings allowing three htis and one earned run and three walks with two strikeouts.
Matt Brown pitched one inning allowing 2 hit with two strikouts.
Ian Hathaway was 1-of-2 at the plate with two walks and two runs.
Jim Eloff hit 2-of-4 with two RBI.
Nick Black hit 1-of-2 with three walks.
Wes Vaughn hit 3-of-5 with one RBI and one run scored.
The Raiders are schedule to travel to Glen Oaks on Tuesday to face the Vikings in a double header starting at 2PM.
