Raider softball splits with Jackson

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Grand Rapids, Mich – The Raider softball team split their double header with Jackson College yesterday dropping the first game 8-12 then winning the second 14-10.  GRCC now rests in 8th place in the MCCAA West at 2-8 in the MCCAA and 8-22 overall.

Ingrid Kukla took the loss in game one pitching 6 innings allowing 10 hits, four earned runs and five walks with three strikeouts.  Kukla is 5-12 this season as a starter. 

Amber Ballard went 3-of-5 at the plate with three RBI and one run with two doubles.  Kaitlyn Guobis went 1-of-4 scoring one run with three RBI.  JoBeth Bouwens and Amanda Steig each recorded a RBI and a run hitting 3-of-4 in game one.

In the second game GRCC recorded 14 runs on 14 hits with 11 RBI and rallied for a late win against the Jets.

Bouwens was 2-of-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.  Megan Lee recorded her first home run of the season while hitting 2-of-4 scoring three runs with two RBI.

GRCC's Ingrid Kukla earned the win coming in to close pitching two innings allowing three hits with no runs and one walk while striking out three.

Billie Jo DeLisle got the start pitching four innings allowing 7 hits, 6 earned runs and five walks with one strikeout.  Mackenzie Allan pitched the fifth inning allowing 3 hits, one earned run and one walk. 

The Raiders face 7th place Lake Michigan College on the road Friday in a double header starting at 3PM.
