Grand Rapids, Mich. – It took ten minutes for the Lady Raiders to down the Chargers in the first set 25-9, GRCC never looked back beating Ancilla College in three sets (25-9, 25-15, 25-16). The Raiders where clicking on all cylinders, playing fast and playing as a team. GRCC showed a lot of hustle on long volleys, turning those hustle plays into points.
The night began with the honoring of ten sophomores who have led GRCC to a sixth place national finish, a regional championship and a conference championship. The sophomore class consists of

Jenna Karel,
Shelby Ruffner,
Abbie Gortsema,
Katlyn Agren,
Lucia Kalmeyer and
Michelle Holland.
The Raiders dominated from the onset of the match and were led by their strong sophomore class. GRCC combined to hit an impressive 31 percent for the match, generating 36 assists, 55 digs and 19 blocks while only committing 14 errors. Rosalyn led the Raiders with 7 kills, while Shelby and Abbie contributed with 5 each. Michelle Holland quarterbacked the offense, dishing out 20 assists. The star on the defensive side was sophomore Amanda Glaza. Glaza showed off her cat like reflexes and determination on her way to 23 digs.
The Raiders play Lake Michigan College on Tuesday, October 21st at 6:30pm in the Ford Fieldhouse.
