Box Score 2 Grand Rapids, MI -- Despite two decesive wins on the first day of Region XII play, GRCC's Raider softball team comes to an end following a pair of lossed to Kalamazoo Valley, 3-5, and Owen's Community College, 0-1.
Up 3-1 in the sixth, the Raider let their lead slip away as the Cougars scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead and the eventual win, 5-3.
With one loss the Raiders took to the field against Owen's Community College's Express whose lone loss in District G play came by way of the Raiders 11-6 in the second round of play.
Both teams struggled to produce much offense with only 10 combined hits in the game, but Owen's got on the board in the first as Rockman flied into a double that scored Iacoangeli for the winning run.
Owen's ace Katilyn Turski held GRCC to just 4 hits with one walk and four strikeouts to earn her 20th win of the season.
GRCC's
Kayla Goodwin took the loss pitching two innings allowing just one hit, with one earned run.
Russelle Slimmen came in in relief pithing four innings allowing no hits or runs while striking out 6.
KVCC ultimately won the NJCAA's District G Tournament knocking off Owens 2-1 to advance to the national tournament.

Shelby Roush--were named to the NJCAA District G All-Tournament Team.
