Grand Rapids, MI – GRCC’s Raider softball team, ranked 18
th in NJCAA DII, host Ancilla College’s Charges today for a double header at Belknape Park at 3:00PM.
The Raiders are now 16-2 in MCCAA play and tied for first in the MCCAA West with Kalamazoo Valley whose two losses came by way of the Raiders.
Ancilla College rests in the middle of the pack in the West with a 7-11 MCCAA record while 13-17 overall.
The Chargers are led this season by Sophomores Courtney Clark and Kayla Dell. Clark is batting an impressive .448 with a team high seven RBI on 13 hits. Dell leads the team with a team high batting and on base percentage at .500 and .561 respectively.
GRCC’s offensive charge is currently being led by sophomore
Tiffanie Wolan Wolan is batting .481 with 50 hits, 34 RBI, and 6 home runs.
Freshman
Megan Lee trails with some equally impressive numbers. Lee has recorded 22 RBI and 43 runs with 47 hits, 3 triples and six home runs.
Freshman pitcher
Ingrid Kukla leads the Raiders from the mound. In 18 games she recorded 13 wins and one save with only 4 losses. She currently holds a 3.14 ERA with 90 strikeouts.
While those numbers deserve the spotlight the whole Raider order is posting
impressive numbers and hopes to continue to improve upon their now five game win streak.
With four more wins on the books since the last national poll was released last week, the Raiders may see their stock rise in the national polls when they come out today.
