Plymouth, IN – Grand Rapids Community College’s men’s basketball team extends their win streak to four following a close 78-72 win over Ancilla College’s chargers. The chargers fall to 2-11 in conference play.
Now 8-5 in MCCAA play and 15-7 overall, GRCC’s Raiders have just three regular season games remaining before they begin the post-season.
Daryl White led last night’s charge against Ancilla leading his team in points and rebounds finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals in 38 minutes of play.
Miles Robinson added 14 points to the scoreboard hitting four from the field while 6-of-6 from the line.
Nate Hollenbeck shot 5-of-7 from the field with 2-of-2 three point attempts finding the net.
With the exception of Hollenbeck, the Raiders couldn’t buy a ticket to three-point land as the team shot a miserable 2-of-18 from the arc. However, the Raiders did shoot 18-of-24 from the free throw line, their highest percentage in that category this season.
Each member of the Raider’s bench saw at least 10 minutes of time on the floor.
The Chargers—who had the game tied with less than two minutes to play—out rebounded the Raiders 42-35, but couldn’t keep control of the ball with 23 turnovers.
Demetrius Adams led Ancilla with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Jacob Frazier contributed 19 points and 10 rebounds falling short of the double-double.
Rosey Green added 21 points to lead his team in scoring.
Next up for the Raider is a shot at redemption against Jackson Community College on Wednesday February 20
th. In their last meeting, Jackson played host to GRCC and bested the Raiders 88-84.
