Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich – GRCC's men's basketball team improves to 5-3 overall with a huge 84-64 win over Davenport University's JV Panther Squad.
GRCC was led in scoring by sophomore
Miles Robinson who finished the game with 14 points shooting 6-of-9 from the field while adding five assists and two steals before the final buzzer.
Sophomores
Deontae Hudson and
Willie Duke also made significant contributions as Hudson added 12 points of his own going 4-of-5 from the field while 4-of-8 from the line, and Duke led the Raiders in rebounds with 5 while adding 10 points.
Arthur Pearson and
Cameron Burhannon round off the top five scorers with 8 points each.
The Raiders bench combined for 48 points in the contest and every member of the team had a role in the win.
Davenport's Andrew Tibbe led the Panthers in scoring with 9 points. Jason Neuhauser, Carter Heminger and Cameron Burns each added 8 points to the Pathers' total. Tori Brooks led the Panthers in the paint with 10 rebounds.
GRCC hosts the NJCAA DII's #3 South Suburban College on Friday December 20
th at 4:00PM at the Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs travel to Grand Rapids with a 12-2 overall record led by sophomore Antonio Levy.
Levy is averaging 19.6 points per game in 2013 along with 3.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.7 steals.
A win over the third ranked Bulldogs has the potential to get the Raiders back in national poll conversation before the start of conference play.
