Box Score Perrysburg, OH – Grand Rapids Community College took home a 6^th place finish at the 2013 NJCAA DII National Tournament after finishing 2-2 overall. 

After the Raiders' 3-2 over Catawba's Bucs GRCC fell to the eventual National Runners-up, Parkland Community College, who bested GRCC 1-3.  GRCC stayed alive with a tight 3-2 win over Des Moines Area Community College, but were forced to settle for sixth place after taking a 0-3 loss at the hands of Southwest Community College.

Freshman Shelby Ruffner was named to the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the championship matche.  Ruffner recorded 54 kills with a .334 hitting percentage in her four matches while adding 11 blocks and two service aces.

While unsuccessful at defending their National Championship from 2012, GRCC's 2013 campaign certainly helps to validate the Raiders' status as a regional powerhouse. 

With 14 freshman on the roster this season the 2014 season is already looking bright.
