Three Rivers, MI—Both the Raiders men and women’s squads were unable to earn the victory in Three Rivers on Saturday. The men are now 8-5 on the season and the women are 3-9.
After defeating Kellogg Community College in the week, the women hoped to string together a pair of victories against the Vikings, but ultimately fell just short. The Raiders dropped the away game by a score of 68-60.
Leading her squad in a losing effort was Stephanie Stevens with a total of 16 points. Teammate Kayla Rosinski added 14 points during the effort and Danielle Harrison added another 12.
The men struggled early, falling behind 42-24 by the half. Although the Raiders kept up with Glen Oaks during the second half of play, they weren’t able to make up any ground lost early on. Both teams added another 37 points in the second half for a final score of 79-61.
Although both teams lost, they are still confident that they can regain their composure to put together a winning season. Both teams will take the court next when they head to Muskegon on Wednesday.
