Grand Rapids, MI – GRCC volleyball’s win streak continues at 9 as the #3 Raiders blew past KVCC in three sets 25-17, 25-17 and 25-18.  The Raider’s record improves to 6-0 in MCCAA West play while their overall record now stands at 18-1.

Last night’s win was the icing on the cake for players and fans alike as GRCC’s Athletic Department honored their programs who won NJCAA Regional Championships throughout the course of the the 2011-2012 seasons.

Last year GRCC won Regional Championships in Women’s Tennis, Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Football and Volleyball.  Players representing each of those teams were present last night to take part in the event.

Given last night’s performance, GRCC’s volleyball team seems fully capable of winning another Regional Title.

Karleigh Strazisar was a perfect 22-22 on serve receive and dug 6 balls for GRCC.

Kaitlyn Wolters dealt 37 assists with 6 kills while adding three solo blocks.

Nicole Czehowski added a team high 14 kills with six digs.

Thursday night the Raiders host the Chargers of Ancilla College at the Ford Fieldhouse at 6:30PM.  Ancilla travels to GRCC with a 11-7 overall record while 3-3 in MCCAA-West play.

Win or lose, GRCC will need to have some gas left in their collective tank as they will face four more tough teams at this weekend’s Raider Challenge, including 5th ranked Owens Community College.
