Raiders bounce back in game two with 8-1 victory over top seeded Glen Oak CC

Battle Creek, MI--After dropping the first game of the 2011 NJCAA Region XII Baseball Tournament the GRCC Raiders were able to revive their winning ways. The Raiders dealt a crushing 8-1 victory to the top seeded Glen Oaks CC Vikings. After a close first 3 innings the Raiders were able to reach the score board with two runs in the 3rd inning. Kenny Davis and Jared Theisen both scored after a single from Jason Hockemeyer, who continues to post dominant batting numbers. The Raiders scored 2 more runs in the fourth inning and were able to seal the win with a huge 7th inning.The team scored three runs, and had stolen bases from Jo Woo and Steve Hazel who both scored. Zach Stephens pitched the first 6 innings for the Raiders and posted 3 strike outs with 1 earned run. Eric Musselman was able to make another save after pitching the final inning, posting one walk and three strike outs. Grand Rapids will participate in the quarterfinals of the Loser's Bracket and face Macomb CC on Nichols Field at Bailey Park on Monday at 1:00 PM.
