Jason Hockemeyer and company faced off in the recent weeks against Kalamazoo Valley Community College, Glen Oaks Community College, Lansing Community College, Muskegon and Mott Community Colleges where he recorded 21 hits with 37 plate appearances. Jason compiled 13 singles, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 4 runs, 15 RBIs, 4 stolen bases and 5 walks. Jason also had two game winning hits, one which came in a tight 2-1 extra inning game against Kalamazoo Valley Saturday April 23. Jason’s batting average is .402 for the season. Jason has also been a standout student here at GRCC where he carries a 3.8 gpa. Jason is a positive leader on and off the field which is why he was chosen as the athlete of the week.
