Brenden Johnson earns a spot in the Student-Athlete Spotlight this week after delivering some great numbers this season at the plate. Johnson, a sophomore catcher turned first baseman, leads his team in batting .414, slugging .657, hits 29, doubles 11, home runs 2, and total bases with 70. In the past week Johnson lit it up for the Raiders with two homers against Muskegon Community College and a pair of doubles against Lansing in the same week. With about a month of regular season play remaining this year the Raiders have high hopes that Johnson will continue to produce and lead his team to the Region XII Tournament.
