Freshman XC runner Isaiah Fox of Grand Rapids, MI earns Student Athlete honors as he finishes the regular season as the top finisher for the Raiders in every event but one of his first season at GRCC.  Fox, from Catholic Central High School, kicked off the season with a 6th place finish at the Jackson Invitational in August where he edged out fellow Raider Kirk Dickson, who also ran remarkably well this year, by just over :30 seconds to witness his team earn thier first team vistory.  Fox followed up at the Vanderbilt Invitational taking first for the Raiders at 17:21.9 again outpacing Dickson who finished at 17:30.0.  Fox ran a 28:03.7 8k at the Knight Invite to earn 184th overall and followed that up with a 41st place finish at the Lansing Invitational to lead his team with a 27:41.5.  Fox finished his freshman season at the Jayhawk Invitational finishing 54th overall with a 27:31.07 and 2nd on his team behind Dickson who ran a 27:23.36.  GRCC expects great finishes out of both runners next year as they continue to improve during this off-season.
